A NOTE FROM PASTOR RONNY…
As we turn the corner to November, let's prepare to thank the Lord for His goodness, grace, and glory.
The Iron Sharpens Iron Pastors' Retreat was amazing. It encouraged God's servants and expanded His kingdom. I'm receiving messages from the pastors, and they're thankful for the way our church blessed and loved them. I thank our deacon body. Your generosity made the retreat possible. I appreciate the way our church family prayed for these men, their families, and their churches. Your prayers made a difference in their lives.
I'm already planning for the next retreat. It's scheduled for March 31-April 1, 2025. I'll keep the number to eight senior pastors. What a joy to invest in other pastors!
As you know, it's not possible to travel to Israel. Travel conditions are unsafe. Let's continue to pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6). I'm leading a Journeys of Paul trip from October 10-22, 2025. We'll visit Rome, Athens, Ephesus, and many other places. I'm hosting an informational meeting about the trip on Sunday, November 10. The meeting will happen in the Choir Room right after the worship service. A light lunch will be served. The meeting will last about one hour. If you attend the meeting, it doesn't commit you to going on the trip. If you have any questions, please contact Dana in my office. It's going to be an amazing trip.
The Thanksgiving holiday is upon us. I'm praying for our church family this month. Here are seven ways to live a thankful life in November:
Pause and praise the Lord for your salvation.
Write a note of thanksgiving to a loved one, a spiritual leader, or a dear friend.
Help a family in need with groceries or the necessities of life.
Count your many blessings by listing twenty-five items in a journal.
Make reservations and attend the church's annual Thanksgiving Dinner.
Gather your family and pray a prayer of thanksgiving for one another.
Visit someone who lost a loved one this year and spend time with them.
I've been your pastor for four years. Angie and I thank you for your prayers, love, and support. It's been my desire, and continues to be my desire, to make much of Jesus, preach and teach His Word, love you, and shepherd with character and integrity.
I'm thankful that our church is committed to worshipping God, loving people, sharing Jesus, and making disciples. All the praise goes to Jesus.
Thank you for your many birthday wishes and your kind words and gifts to our staff team and me during October. We're blessed to serve the Lord with you.
Angie and I love you!
May you and your family have a blessed Thanksgiving month!
Blessings,
Pastor Ronny

MomLife exists to see groups of moms in all ages and stages grow in their faith and spiritual friendships. WHOLEHEARTED - LOVING GOD: HEART, SOUL, MIND, & STRENGTH. Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:29-31, ESV)
Wednesday Night D-CONNECT GROUPS (6:00pm):
Pastor’s Study, Grace Worship Center, Led by Dr. Ronny Raines
Pastor Ronny is going through an overview of the Bible where a different book of the Bible is taught each Wednesday night.Hispanic Bible Study, Room 2120, Led by Nestor Martinez
Seamless | Room FH2230 | Led by Mikka Doyle | 7 week Bible study for ladies.
In 7 sessions, Seamless covers the people, places, and promises of the Bible, tying them together into the greater story of Scripture. Whether you’ve grown up hearing Bible stories or you’re exploring Scripture for the first time, the full story of the Bible can be overwhelming. Experience the Bible as a whole as you gain clarity and confidence in your understanding of Scripture. Discover a biblical context that reshapes and brings to life stories from the Old and New Testaments.Revelation by Jen Wilkin, Room 2327, Led by Debbie Farrell
Perhaps no other book of the Bible feels as inaccessible and as intimidating to us as the very last one. The book of Revelation overflows with images and ideas that confound our modern ears. But if all Scripture is God-breathed and profitable, we should assume Revelation is as accessible and helpful as any other book of the Bible. Why don’t we see it that way?
Two thousand years ago, John’s Revelation was circulated and read aloud among seven churches in Asia Minor. Those who heard the letter understood it and drew encouragement from its message. The same can be true for you today. Over 10 sessions of verse-by-verse Bible study, Jen Wilkin helps you discover how the last book of the Bible—the culmination of God’s great story—speaks both a steadying word of assurance and a strong call to endure to the church in every age

Gratitude isn’t an inherent emotion; it’s learned. Model gratitude to your kids by 1) Being vocal about the things you are grateful for, 2) Making sure your family knows you are grateful for what they do, 3) Creating a habit of serving others together, and 4) Using key moments in your family’s life for gratitude checks: make a daily habit of letting everyone share at least one thing they are grateful for.
We are grateful for our pastors and staff. At this time, we especially appreciate Jonathan Anderson, Technical Director, for his time and expertise in producing DVD’s of the October 2nd service when the Time Capsule from the demolished building was revealed. We hope to soon have several copies in the library to be checked out for those of you who were unable to attend that service.
The pastor’s next sermon series will deal with the Lord’s Prayer, through December 1. Stop by the church library, room 2326 on the third floor of the Hope Building, and look at the books in the library window; they are all available to check out. If you see something you want to check out when the library is closed, please take a slip provided in the window; fill it out and place it under the door to the library office. You will find the barcode on the upper left corner of the front of the book. Please contact Frances Sumner by email at fcsumner@gmail.com for more information.
