A NOTE FROM PASTOR RONNY…
FBC Clarksville On Mission
I'm proud of Cole, the leaders, and the students who served the Lord and loved people in Mexico. The Lord used the mission team to advance His kingdom agenda. Kids loved the VBS. I was able to attend a VBS site with the team one afternoon. My heart was full to see them serving the Lord, proclaiming the gospel, and loving the kids. I'm encouraged by the next generation of leaders and students.
Dr. Ed Rocha, our Hispanic pastor, served well, too. I was blessed by his partnership as we loved and served pastors. He has a heart for the Lord and His people. God has given me a love for pastors. The pastors' conference was amazing. The Spirit of the Lord ministered in special ways. An invitation has already been extended to do this again in 2025. The desire for next year is to invite more pastors and their wives. We'll wait and see how the Lord leads and provides.
What did we see the Lord do in Mexico?
Jesus was preached
People were saved
Pastors were encouraged
Churches were strengthened
Students were used
Children were loved
God was glorified
I'm blessed to see our church sending people out to serve the Lord. Thank you for being a church that prays, gives, goes, sends, and educates. I'm thankful for the missional leadership of Jason Johnson and the Missions Team staff. We'll keep seeking mission opportunities locally, regionally, nationally, and globally. Church family, thank you for making much of Jesus!
A New School Year
Let's join together and pray for this upcoming school year. Our schools need God's protection. How can we pray?
Safety for school staff and students
Wisdom for teachers and administrators
Parents to be involved and supportive
Students to learn and excel in the classroom
Healthy relationships to be developed and fostered
Professional help to be offered and received when needed
Gospel advancement to happen through conversations and the Good News Clubs
As we pray for our schools, the Lord has opened the door for us to have two local Good News Clubs. We can go inside the schools and share the gospel and love kids and their families. You're needed to serve. If you'd like more information about the clubs and how to serve, please contact Jason Johnson in our Missions Office. We'd love to talk with you. Thank you for praying.
My Next Sermon Series
I'm launching a new sermon series this month. It'll be a verse-by-verse series through the book of Malachi. God has a Word for us. I hope you'll read Malachi as a way to prepare. I also pray that you plan to be in every worship gathering during this sermon series. Your presence and involvement make a difference.
Get Connected Sunday
Sunday, August 11 is "Get Connected Sunday." We encourage you to be in a Connect Group that morning. I appreciate Tony Lewis and the entire Discipleship Team helping us. Bible study groups help people grow in Christ and develop healthy, Christ-centered relationships. We have groups for all ages. You can come to the Steeple Entrance on any Sunday morning at 8:45. We have greeters ready to help and serve you. We're encouraging you to connect or reconnect on Sunday, August 11. We have incredible Connect Group teachers. I hope you'll give a Connect Group a try. You'll be blessed for sure.
Update on Faith Building Project
Work on the Faith buildings continues. We're close to seeing the two buildings removed. I'm praying for our unity, our focus, and our direction. I'm thankful for the devoted work of the two ad hoc teams. The Lord is using His people.
May the Lord continue to pour out His blessings on our church!
Angie and I love you, and we're praying for you!
Blessings,
Pastor Ronny

Pastor’s Study, Grace Worship Center, Led by Dr. Ronny Raines
Pastor Ronny is going through an overview of the Bible where a different book of the Bible is taught each Wednesday night.Hispanic Bible Study, Room 2120, Led by Nestor Martinez
Seamless | Room FH2230 | Led by Mikka Doyle | 7 week Bible study for ladies.
In 7 sessions, Seamless covers the people, places, and promises of the Bible, tying them together into the greater story of Scripture. Whether you’ve grown up hearing Bible stories or you’re exploring Scripture for the first time, the full story of the Bible can be overwhelming. Experience the Bible as a whole as you gain clarity and confidence in your understanding of Scripture. Discover a biblical context that reshapes and brings to life stories from the Old and New Testaments.Revelation by Jen Wilkin, Room 2327, Led by Debbie Farrell
Perhaps no other book of the Bible feels as inaccessible and as intimidating to us as the very last one. The book of Revelation overflows with images and ideas that confound our modern ears. But if all Scripture is God-breathed and profitable, we should assume Revelation is as accessible and helpful as any other book of the Bible. Why don’t we see it that way?
Two thousand years ago, John’s Revelation was circulated and read aloud among seven churches in Asia Minor. Those who heard the letter understood it and drew encouragement from its message. The same can be true for you today. Over 10 sessions of verse-by-verse Bible study, Jen Wilkin helps you discover how the last book of the Bible—the culmination of God’s great story—speaks both a steadying word of assurance and a strong call to endure to the church in every ageHow to Develop & Deepen Your Prayer Life, Room 2234, Led by Tony Lewis
In this class, we will be studying different prayers from the Old & New Testament. We will be looking to see how God speaks to His people. We want to help each person to strengthen and grow in their personal prayer life.

WHOLEHEARTED - LOVING GOD: HEART, SOUL, MIND, & STRENGTH

Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:29-31, ESV)
MomLife Ministries provides easy-to-use curriculum, encouragement, and practical resources to help groups of moms grow in their faith and spiritual friendships. MomLife is designed for moms to gather twice a month (August to May) to watch a teaching video, engage in discussion, and build life-giving community. Good News Club
Join the Good News Club Team at Norman Smith Elementary
We are excited to announce a new ministry opportunity for our church: the Good News Club at Norman Smith Elementary School! Starting in the fall for the 2024-25 school year, we will meet on Thursday afternoons during the school year for a couple of hours right after school lets out.
The purpose of the Good News Club is to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of Jesus and disciple them in the Word of God. We also aim to connect them to a local church for Christian living. The public school is a mission field, and we have the privilege of reaching out to these young hearts with Bible lesson, songs, Scripture memory, and games during our weekly Club meetings.
We need team members to make this ministry a success. Not everyone on the team is required to be a teacher—there are various ways you can serve in the Club. Child Evangelism Fellowship, CEF, will provide training to ensure you are well-prepared to minister to the children at Norman Smith.
If you are interested in learning more about joining this team and sharing Jesus with children, please contact Susana Crespo at susana.crespo@fbct.org.
Let’s come together to make a lasting impact on the lives of these children and spread the love of Christ in our community.
