A NOTE FROM PASTOR RONNY…

Ronny+and+Angie+Raines+3.jpg

Springtime in Tennessee, is beautiful...and a little tough for allergy sufferers.

Thank you for your faithfulness and participation during the Easter season. The Week of Prayer and Fasting, the Good Friday service, and Resurrection Sunday were amazing. The Lord worked in our lives and church. These are exciting days for FBC Clarksville. Would you agree?

I believe April is going to be a special month, too. We have many strategic ministries and events before us. Here are several items for you and your calendar:

Date Night

God created marriage. He brings two people together for His glory and their good and growth. The enemy is attacking marriages inside and outside of the church. How is the evil one seeking to destroy your marital union (John 10:10)? We want to invest in your marriage. On Sunday, April 21, beginning at 4:00 pm, we're having "Date Night." It's an evening of worship, fellowship, and instruction. Our ministry staff is leading eight breakout sessions. You'll have an opportunity to register and attend two of them. We'll serve dinner from Mission BBQ. Costs are $35 per couple. You'll also receive a gift. We're giving every couple a book entitled, "The Meaning of Marriage." You can sign up or find more information at www.fbct.org. Childcare is available by reservation only. I appeal for you to invest in your marriage and attend "Date Night."

Quarterly Church Conference

The date for our next church conference is Wednesday, April 24. It'll be in the Grace Worship Center. You'll hear ministry reports from our leaders. You'll also hear an update from our Faith Building Ad Hoc Team. We're expected to receive a report on the asbestos removal. The plan is to vote on the funding for that project during the conference. All asbestos must be abated before we can remove the two buildings. We promised months ago to keep you informed of the progress and costs of the total project. I hope you'll attend the conference and stay informed and involved as we move forward. These are strategic days for FBC. Thank you for praying and staying engaged.

Serve Clarksville

Our vision statement says that we exist to worship God, love people, share Jesus, and make disciples. We love people by serving them and sharing the gospel with them. On Saturday, April 27, we have a divine opportunity to serve our community. Jason Johnson and our Acts 1:8 team have coordinated many ministry projects for all ages. We'll gather that morning at 8:30 and enjoy a light breakfast. After eating and fellowshipping, we'll come together in the Grace Worship Center for music, instruction, and prayer. Our goal is to leave the church facility around 9:00 for the various ministry projects. You can go to our church's landing page and study the many projects. You can also register there. We're praying to see 200-300 FBC folks serving people in our community that day. What a blessing to see His church leave the building!

NAMB Evangelism Training

One of our church-wide goals this year is to have at least 5,000 gospel conversations. Evangelism training is essential to reach our goal. On Monday morning, April 29, leaders from NAMB will be with us to provide training. It'll start that morning with a light breakfast. The training starts at 9:00 in the Fellowship Hall. The morning will end with a Chick-fil-A lunch. There's no financial cost to you. However, we do ask you to register. You can do so on our website or by calling the Church Office. Dr. Tim Dowdy, team leader at NAMB, will be with us on Sunday, April 28. I've invited him to preach for me that Sunday. We must push back spiritual darkness in our community. Jesus calls us to be His witnesses (Acts 1:8). I hope to see you at the training on April 29.

If these items aren't enough, we're baptizing believers on Sundays and Wednesdays. Our Hispanic Ministry is moving to a new, temporary location in the Hope Building on Sunday, April 7. Please pray for them during this transition, and as we search for a new Hispanic pastor. A new young adult connect group is being launched this month, too.

As I wrap up this article, thank you for your prayers, generosity, and involvement. The Lord is using you.

Angie and I love you, and we're praying for you.

May the Lord's best be yet to come!

Blessings,

Pastor Ronny

A huge thank you to Mr. Kevin Kennedy for bringing his animals, including a very special donkey, to help us learn about this significant day in the life of Jesus. We also extend our gratitude to all our teachers and Smile volunteers for teaching and reinforcing the important lesson that we should worship Jesus every day with shouts of Hosanna!

  • Music Camp: July 8th -12th | 9:00 am-noon

  • Musical Presentation: Saturday, July 13th at 5:00 pm

Come along on this Biblically-inspired, Won’t-Bend-Won’t-Bow-Won’t-Burn Babylonian epic, recounting the adventures of Daniel ("Danny," as we call him in our 21st-century version of the story) and his bandmates, The Shacks (better known to you Bible scholars out there as Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego!). In our re-telling of the story, three young Hebrew men named Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, in conjunction with the prophet Daniel (of lions den fame), have a band called DANNY & THE SHACKS. They embark on a roller-coaster-thrill-ride of experiences as they encounter King Neb, his golden statue, some crazy Babylonians, the fiery furnace, and of course, the infamous lions den. Through it all, the powerful truth of God’s Word and the importance of being obedient and faithful to His teaching comes through loud and clear in a storyline so fantastic and faith affirming, it could only come from the Word of God.

FUGE CAMP

Many times throughout history, we have seen the people of God rise up and turn back to Him with passion and fervor for their faith in times of great revival. What is revival? It isn’t goosebumps or an emotional high. Revival is the spiritual awakening of God’s people to their true nature and purpose. Revival is mainly for God’s people, but those who do not know Christ also benefit because Christians actually get serious about their faith. Has the time come for another great revival? Will your generation lead the way? Join us for FUGE Camps 2024 as we look at four stories in the Bible of great change and revival that resulted in generational impact and be challenged to make a difference for generations to come.

Your student must have completed a Code of Conduct and Medical Release form to participate in this event.

Romans is a passionate letter written by Paul, a man completely captured by the beauty, mercy, and majesty of God and His glorious salvation. Paul wanted his readers, then and now, to know how amazing and all-encompassing this salvation actually is—that it’s powerful, planned, eternal, free, and leads to a transformed life.
In this 9-session study, walk through the book of Romans to discover that salvation doesn’t just change your eternal future; it changes your present reality. Because of God’s salvation, hope, peace, life, faith, trust, and endurance are yours.
Learn that after God saves you, He invites you to join Him on His two-fold mission— to sanctify and transform you into the image of Jesus and to send you out into the world to share the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ.

  • Pastor’s Study, Grace Worship Center, Led by Dr. Ronny Raines
Pastor Ronny is going through an overview of the Bible where a different book of the Bible is taught each Wednesday night.

  • Dream Small: The Secret Power of the Ordinary Christian Life by Seth Lewis, Led by Debbie Farrell, Room 2327
We are all looking for significance and meaning in our lives. The world tells us that this comes from dreaming big, achieving personal success, and making a big impact. But the Bible says that self-worth is found in knowing our Creator, and contentment is found in discovering his purpose for our lives. This book reminds us that when we know Jesus, we are free from the world’s definition of success. We can listen to God’s word and direct our dreams towards the things that he says matter most, even if they are small and unimpressive in the world’s eyes.

  • Character Still Counts by Dr. James Meritt, Room 2234, Led by Mike Madewell
Character still counts, and it always will. If you are ready to invest in the content of your character, join James Merit as he looks at the 12 role models who reveal the traits that are essential to Godly character.

We would like to welcome Iris Alfonso to the library staff.  She has spent much of her life in libraries, either using them or working in them.  Iris and her granddaughter Deana were baptized in First Baptist the same Sunday morning.  Iris is in Mark Briggs’ Sunday school class, and Deana is in the ninth grade youth department.  Iris works at the circulation desk in the library, shelves books, and is a great addition to the staff.

The following is a partial list of recent additions to the library:

Alcorn, HEAVEN FOR KIDS
Benware, UNDERSTANDING END TIMES PROPHECY
Cahn, THE RETURN OF THE GODS
Carlson, THE CHRISTMAS SWAP
Cook, A BAD CASE OF TATTLE TONGUE
Cymbala, FAN THE FLAME
Eldredge, RESILIENT
Evans, KINGDOM RACE THEOLOGY
Geiger, THE QUOKKAS, THE SNAILS, AND THE LAND OF HAPPINESS
Goodman, ARE WE STILL FRIENDS?
